Only the most influential personalities of Roaring Twenties could afford the levels of luxury offered by a Pierce-Arrow, which became the chosen means of conveyance not only of American presidents, but also of Emperor Hirohito of Japan, the Shah of Iran and the King of Saudi Arabia.
The car also competed successfully with European makers on their own turf by supplying the monarchs of both Belgium and Greece. Needless to say, J.D. Rockefeller, the richest man in the world at that time, was also an owner of this ultimate status symbol, as were other important industrialists, stars from the world of entertainment, top politicians and international diplomats.
